Then the surface move. Brockman: “Introducing Intelligent UI, a new capability in ChatGPT for answering quickly with fully interactive user interfaces.” OpenAI’s own words: “GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, now rolling out in ChatGPT for everyone. Intelligent UI in ChatGPT delivers fast, interactive answers that make everyday questions more visual, complex topics easier to grasp, and interactive tools for your task available on the spot.” The chat bubble is being commoditised from the inside — answers that assemble their own UI per question.

Learnings

Distribution compounds. Forty million users is the number everything else serves — every launch lands on an installed base that competitors cannot rent.
The interface is the new model. Interactive answers commoditise the chat bubble; the surface becomes the product and the differentiator.
Public cadence is a trust device. A 28-day public shipping streak with a built-in penalty — a free reset if a day is missed — is marketing you cannot fake.

The takeaway — “Approve for me” matters more than it sounds: auto-review at zero usage cost removes the tax on every single agent action. Watch agent usage per user from here — the ceiling just moved, and the marathon means there is another ceiling coming tomorrow.

The week’s most honest enterprise-AI signal arrived as a product note: going forward, the Grok account at SpaceX will use the best backend model for any given task — naming Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney and Suno outright. “Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome.” Loyalty, even to your own lab, is now officially a cost centre.

Read it literally: the bot will route per task. Best text model for text, best image model for images, best audio model for audio — regardless of logo. Claude Opus 5.5 is named first among the text options; MidJourney covers images; Suno covers audio. This is a procurement architecture wearing a tweet: classify the task, send it to the winner, take the best outcome.

Why it matters beyond the gossip: when the founder of a frontier lab publicly multi-sources, single-model loyalty is over as a strategy. The durable layer is the routing and evaluation layer — knowing which model wins which task, and switching without ceremony. Naming competitors in public is also the new procurement flex: it tells every lab that the buyer has options and the market has depth.

Learnings

Multi-model is the default architecture now — even inside the AI labs themselves.
The moat moved to routing and evals. Picking well, per task, beats building everything yourself.
Public multi-sourcing pressures every lab. Your best customer is also your competitor’s customer — act accordingly.

The takeaway — If your stack is single-model, you are holding a loyalty position the market just abandoned. Route per task, eval per task, and let the backends compete for your traffic.

If you have seen a digital ad for Durex, Neurogum or Levi’s, the same team probably made it — and they started out selling razors. Rahul Mathur’s thread traces how Bombay Shaving Company’s services arm, now called 100Days, quietly became the business: over ₹1,000 crore of quick-commerce GMV, 12 crore annual D2C visitors, 60 lakh shipments a year, across 15+ brands.

The origin is the tell. In January 2021, Reckitt — Durex’s owner — led a ₹45 crore round into Bombay Shaving Company, then asked Shantanu and team to build a services business to fix Durex’s online sales. An investor buying the team, not the product. It worked: roughly ₹20 crore of D2C sales for Durex in FY24 alone, and the services arm kept expanding until it outgrew its parent — 15+ brands, >₹1,000 crore GMV on quick commerce, >12 crore annual D2C visitors, >60 lakh annual shipments.

The pattern generalises: services fund the product, then the services become the product. The D2C brand was the laboratory where the growth playbook got written; the agency is where it gets monetised at scale. Every new brand sharpens the playbook — more spend data, more creative winners, more fulfilment edge — which makes the next brand cheaper to win. That is a flywheel, not a side hustle.

Learnings

Your side capability may be the business. BSC’s growth team outgrew its razors — the lab became less valuable than what the lab learned.
Investors buy teams, not just TAM. Reckitt’s ask created the company; the funding round was really an acqui-hire with a balance sheet.
Playbooks compound. Fifteen brands of spend data is a moat no single-brand operator can replicate.

The takeaway — Ask what your team is world-class at that you currently give away free. That is the second business — and it may be the bigger one.

Why marketing is first in line for the agent re-architecture: every marketing output is measurable — copy converts or it doesn’t, spend attributes or it doesn’t — so agents can be graded like employees. Volume is the job — more variants, more channels, more tests — which is exactly what agents are for. And the feedback loops are days, not quarters, so the system learns fast.

The human moves from doing to directing; from drafting to grading. Measurable work gets agentified first. Marketing’s attribution is its destiny — what can be graded can be delegated.
The human’s job becomes taste. Directing, not drafting; grading, not writing.

The takeaway — Map your marketing org by measurability. The most measurable seat is your first agent hire — and the analyst loop is what makes the rest of the org smarter every week.
